U.S. Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn has confirmed reports she's dating golf champion Tiger Woods, insisting the couple is very happy together.
The pair first sparked romance rumors late last year, but things reportedly heated up in February when the blonde beauty suffered a skiing accident in Austria, prompting Woods to send his private jet to fly Vonn home to Colorado, where she is currently recovering from surgery.
And now the star athletes have decided to go public with their new relationship by releasing a collection of joint portraits on Facebook.com.
In a post, the 28 year old, who split from her husband Thomas Vonn in 2011, writes, "I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support!"
Woods, who divorced the mother of his two kids, Elin Nordegren, in 2010 following his headline-grabbing cheating scandal, echoed the same sentiment in a similar post. It reads, "Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
